This year, the UPCEA Outstanding Professional, Continuing, and/or Online Education Student Award will be presented to Joshua Perez, who recently earned Rutgers Law School’s Certificate in Cannabis Law and Business. Perez will receive this award at the 2024 UPCEA Annual Conference later this month in Boston, Massachusetts. Each year, the University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) awards individuals and institutions for their achievements in innovative programming, leadership, teaching, online learning, and more.

Rutgers Law Professor J.C. Lore is the inaugural recipient of the Jo Ann Harris Public Service Award from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA). This award recognizes faculty members who demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and supporting public service programs, which are designed to improve the skills of lawyers who help underserved communities. NITA made the announcement on December 1.

The Rutgers School of Law–Newark Alumni Association held its annual Alumni Recognition Gala at the Maplewood Country Club on October 24 and recognized three alumni with the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Fannie Bear Besser Award for Public Service. The Alumni Association also awarded two student scholarships at the event.
