Rutgers Law School is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools. Rutgers Law School builds on more than 100 years of providing legal education in New Jersey. Merged from its two legacy institutions in Camden and Newark as one law school in July 2015, Rutgers Law School is accredited by the Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the American Bar Association (ABA), and is a member of the Association for American Law Schools (AALS).

As part of its accreditation process of law schools, the ABA collects data during each fall academic semester to generate the ABA Standard 509 report to share directly with prospective students the following consumer information:

• Admissions data

• Tuition and fees, living expenses, and financial aid

• Enrollment data, including academic, transfer, and other attrition

• Numbers of full‐time and part‐time faculty, professional librarians, and staff

• Class sizes for first‐year and upper‐class courses; number of seminar, clinical and co-curricular offerings

• Curricular offerings, academic calendar, and academic requirements

• Bar passage rates

• Policies Regarding Transfer of Credit Earned at Another Institution of Higher Education

In addition to a bar examination, there are character, fitness, and other qualifications for admission to the bar in every U.S. jurisdiction. Applicants are encouraged to determine the requirements for any jurisdiction in which they intend to seek admission by contacting the jurisdiction. Employment Outcomes: Information on employment outcomes for the Class of 2020 may not reflect a particular law school’s typical results in this area. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, bar admission exams were canceled or delayed in many jurisdictions, thus making it more challenging for graduates to secure employment by the annual Graduate Employment Status Date of March 15. Please reference the 3 years of employment outcome data posted on the ABA Required Disclosures webpage of each ABA-Approved Law School or at www.abarequireddisclosures.org.
